Sandy Music Lab is written and run by me, David Sandy. I’m a guitarist and songwriter, and I started this site to share what I learn about playing, writing and recording music with other musicians. You’ll find my name on every guide here, and you can find me on X at @davidsandy.

How I write and choose gear
Every guide starts with a real question guitarists and songwriters ask. For buying guides, I compare specs, prices, maker information and what owners report after using the gear, and I weigh that against my own experience as a player. I don’t run lab tests, and I haven’t owned every product I list, so I focus on explaining who each pick is for and what to skip. I update guides when products, prices or advice change.
